Compost and why your gardens are the richer for it

Compost is not something that comes up generally in normal conversation – apart from as a four-letter word!  At Stanler Farms, the home of Super Grow fertiliser, however - “compost happens”!

Autumn Gardening Tips

Pruning is high on the list of activities.  This is the time to prune your roses.  Hybrid tea roses need to be pruned back drastically to promote new growth.  Floribundas should not be pruned as ruthlessly as this will reduce the number of flowers for the next spring.

Preparing your Garden for Spring

Tips for a happy spring

It’s important to feed your garden in spring with good quality compost, water it well and mulch your beds (cover them with a layer of organic material like Bark Mulch or Mushroom Compost).

This is also the time to prune winter-flowering shrubs, climbers and trees. Remove dead or scraggly wood and prune large shrubs back by a third. Also feed them with some Compost and add a layer of Bark Mulch.
